Norgine Invests in Cleanroom High-Speed Doors from Stertil

Stertil has completed the installation of three FlexiEdge 313LF Cleanroom High-Speed Doors at one of Norgine Ltd’s UK facilities. The project involved upgrading key cleanroom areas to improve air sealing, energy efficiency, and operational reliability, helping Norgine maintain its high standards for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Founded in 1906, Norgine is a leading European pharmaceutical company, known for its innovative treatments that benefit over 25 million patients globally each year. Maintaining cleanroom environments with precise air quality and pressure control is critical for their manufacturing and development processes. However, the aging high-speed doors at one of their sites were no longer providing adequate air seals, prompting the company to seek a more effective solution.

Stertil, a trusted partner of Norgine, was selected to install new high-speed doors in three critical areas: the dispensary, washbay, and Line 3 cleanroom. The custom-sized doors were designed to seamlessly fit each location, providing enhanced air containment and operational efficiency.

The FlexiEdge 313LF Cleanroom Door was chosen for its superior sealing performance, slim design, and low-maintenance features. As the slimmest high-speed cleanroom roll-up door on the market, the FlexiEdge 313LF is designed to prevent contaminants, dust, and humidity from entering cleanroom environments. Its advanced air-seal technology maintains consistent pressure levels, reduces energy loss, and ensures optimal air quality.

The door’s flexible PVC curtain eliminates the need for rigid elements, enhancing safety for both staff and equipment. Additionally, its low-friction side guides and self-reinserting curtain reduce wear and tear, minimising maintenance requirements and downtime.

Each door at Norgine’s facility was equipped with custom features, including mushroom push buttons for easy operation, traffic lights and audible sounders tailored to the site’s needs, and a battery backup system to ensure functionality during power outages.

Norgine has also chosen Stertil’s FlexiEdge 313LF Cleanroom Door for future upgrades and replacements, reflecting their confidence in the product’s performance and reliability.
